BIG News -- April Recap

BIG News -- April Recap

April went by so fast, but it was full of God’s goodness.

At the beginning of April, I was connected to a group of Hungarians here in Springfield, MO! Each Sunday they meet to fellowship. I felt so honored to be invited and to spend the afternoon with them. It just so happened on the Sunday I came, they were having a special meeting where they fixed traditional Goulas (shown on the top right picture), which is a staple food in Hungary.

It was such a gift from God to be connected with this group and be able to ask them questions about their time in Hungary (and the culture shock of coming to the US). They were so kind and it was such an encouragement to hear them praise Jesus for all He has done for them.

Although I didn’t feel confident speaking any Hungarian, I did listen A LOT and recognized several words from the Duolingo lessons I have been doing. I am excited to hopefully meet with them one more time before I leave.

I am officially moving!!!

Towards the end of April, I was released for service by OMS. I have purchased tickets and will be moving on May 29. We have prayed and prayed for the day I can say I am officially moving to Hungary. That day is now here! Praise God for His faithfulness.

I spent the last two weeks in April in St. Louis. During that time, I had final appointments and packed up things at home to either donate or store in my parents’ basement (Thanks Mom and Dad). In between all of that, I took the MOCA (a Missouri teaching test) which will certify me to teach birth-3rd grade.

I plan to spend the first three weeks of May back in Springfield saying goodbyes and then traveling back up to St. Louis to spend a week with my family before flying out of St. Louis on May 29.

  • Great time with family and friends before I leave

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that the last 12% of my needed funding can come in before arriving in Budapest.
  • Please pray that I can prepare well for the "goodbyes" and "see you laters" that I will be saying in the next month.
  • Please pray for safe travels as I leave Springfield on May 21 and then fly to Budapest between May 29 and 30.

Thank you again for all of your prayers and support for me while I am serving in Hungary. One way that I would love to stay connected is to know how I can be praying for you.
