God's Great Love -- August Newsletter
This month in my quiet time, I have been studying the book of Ephesians. There is one theme that has been really evident to me, both through my study and throughout my day. That is God's great love.
These verses in Ephesians 3 gave me a good insight into how great God's love is for me, and other believers:
"That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:17b-19) (emphasis added)
Breadth (width)- God's love is wide. There is no part of our lives that it does not cover.
Length- He has loved us from the very beginning and He will love us for eternity.
Height- His love lifts all believers up together into the heavenly places.
Depth- He loves us so much that He humbled Himself for us, as far as someone could go… death.
How comforting is it that we have a God who loves us through all of our good and bad moments.
This is the love that has grounded me in the decision to pursue overseas missions. God’s great love gives me the peace to step into the calling He has placed in my life. I know that no matter what, His love surrounds me.
My goal through this whole experience is to be “rooted and grounded in love” and share that love with anyone the Lord brings into my life.
I pray that God’s great love for you is evident in your life this next month as much as it has been for me.
