About Hannah

Hi! My name is Hannah. Thank you for showing an interest in my future ministry as a preschool teacher with One Mission Society’s new American preschool project in Budapest, Hungary.

I started this journey during the summer of 2022. It has been a wild ride so far, but God has been so faithful every step of the way. I joined the field in Hungary at the end of May 2024.

My Education

I graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO with my bachelor's degree in Elementary education in December of 2021. I am currently certified to teach birth through 6th grade.

My passion in life is to teach young children. In everything I do, I strive to embody the character of Christ. My goal is to see the example of Christ’s grace and love spread from my classroom into the homes of my students, impacting their families, and ultimately, their community for Him.

My Testimony

Growing up, I thought I could earn God's love and a "ticket into heaven" by doing all of the right things and following a checklist of commandments. Because of this, it was very hard for me to feel close to Him. I thought God was far away, in my mind He was a God who was stern and unforgiving. I could never live up to the expectations I thought He set for me. I carried this legalistic and people-pleasing mindset into everything I did growing up. If I messed up, even a little, I felt unworthy. I was always trying to fit in and feel important to those around me. By the time I reached high school, I lost sight of who God truly was and the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, I was led to a few Christian girls while in college. These young women told me about who God really was and the impact He was having on their lives. I was amazed by the way they talked about God. They each had a personal relationship with Him and described Him as they would a friend or family member. After a night of listening and absorbing the things they were telling me, I learned just how important the death and resurrection of Jesus truly is. In January 2021, I was baptized and committed my life to Jesus.

Before I came to know Jesus as Lord, my life was filled with unreachable expectations, hurt, and loneliness. I searched for validation in the world instead of leaning on God. After hearing the Gospel and accepting Jesus into my heart, I now know that my worth is not placed in anything I do or how others view me, but my true identity is found through what Jesus did for me on the cross. God has taught me that He is loving and merciful. I now strive to extend that love and grace to those around me, just as Jesus has done, and continues to do, for me.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:8-10
